Janine Tonkin is a multidisciplinary mixed media artist, author, experiential designer and creative director based in Bracknell, Berkshire, UK. Her creative practice spans fine art, fashion and textiles, visual merchandising, theatrical and spatial design, products, public art, community engagement and immersive creative experiences.
With more than 20 years of experience across the creative industries, Janine brings together artistic authorship, visual storytelling, symbolism, colour, nature, emotional connection and an instinctive understanding of how people experience the spaces and objects around them.
Her work is not created simply to be looked at. Janine considers what an artwork, product or environment might invite someone to feel, notice, discover, remember, contribute or carry with them. This thinking sits at the heart of Janine Tonkin Art.

Janine Tonkin Art is an artist-led creative brand built around the belief that art can positively contribute to everyday life and emotional wellbeing.
Across original artwork, prints, affirmation cards, journals, calendars, wearables, murals, public art and immersive experiences, Janine creates opportunities for people to pause, reflect, notice, wonder, reconnect and feel.
Mindfulness within the practice does not depend on formal instruction. It can happen naturally through the act of looking more closely, discovering a hidden detail, sitting with an affirmation, noticing a symbol, connecting with nature, contributing creatively or simply allowing a moment of colour and beauty to interrupt an ordinary day.
Joy, hope, healing, growth, curiosity, connection, belonging, empowerment and the imperfect beauty of life are recurring threads throughout the work. Janine's creative thinking continually returns to a simple question: how can this experience offer something positive to the person encountering it?

Janine Tonkin is the Artist, Author & Creator of Wild, Wonder & Bloom™.
Wild, Wonder & Bloom™ is Janine's authored creative philosophy, distinctive visual language, participatory methodology and adaptable creative ecosystem. It has grown from her established artistic practice rather than from a single project or format.
It provides a creative thread through the wider world of Janine Tonkin Art. Paintings, products, murals, participatory artworks, installations and experiences may look different or serve different purposes but they can all carry the same underlying intention: to create meaningful encounters with art that encourage connection with self, others, place, nature, creativity and the goodness that can be found in everyday life.
The visual language is recognisably Janine's. Flowers, mushrooms, butterflies, dragonflies, hearts, mandalas, stars, sparkles, gemstones, symbolic animals and figures, natural elements, hidden discoveries, affirmations and expressive marks recur across the work. These elements are not simply decoration. They are used as layers of symbolism, storytelling, curiosity and emotional meaning.
Not Instruction. Invitation.
Participation is an important expression of Wild, Wonder & Bloom™ but participation does not always mean picking up a paintbrush.
A person might contribute to a mural or participatory artwork. They might choose an affirmation, search for a hidden discovery, sit quietly beside an installation, pause in front of a painting, notice something in their surroundings or simply experience a moment that feels meaningful to them.
Janine creates the artistic world, concept, structure and invitation while leaving space for the individual to determine their own relationship with the work.

I’m Janine, a mixed media artist creating soulful expressive pieces that help you reconnect with your inner world. My work is made for the seekers, the feelers and the women rewriting their stories - those longing for more colour, meaning and healing in their lives.
Why I Create
My art is rooted in healing, hope and emotional growth. It’s colourful, symbolic and often layered with texture and depth. Just like us. Every brushstroke is intentional; created to evoke feeling, ignite reflection and bring warmth to the spaces you live in.
This isn’t just art for your walls. It’s art for your soul.
The Journey So Far
Over the years, I’ve poured my story into each canvas. Exploring themes like becoming, belonging, resilience and love. My collections such as "Learning to Love" and "Life is Beautiful", are deeply personal whilst they speak to something universal. They remind us we’re not alone. That transformation is possible. That beauty is always within reach.
Who My Work Is For
I create for women on a path of self-discovery. For the ones healing, rising, becoming whole again.
I also create for the inner child and for the children who love colour, joy and feeling safe. And yes, men often find themselves moved too. Often buying for the women in their lives or connecting with the rawness of emotion in the work.
